Married couples, engaged or de facto including same-sex couples can apply for Partner Visa. In most cases, Partner Visa leads to the permanent visa after two years of initial grant.

  2. Prospective Marriage Visa: for those engaged to Australian citizens or permanent residents to enter Australia and marry their prospective spouse. It is a temporary visa valid for 9 months after entry.

  3. Child Visa – for overseas children to come to Australia to live with their eligible sponsoring parents. Parent can apply on behalf of a child younger than 18 years of age. This is a permanent visa.

  4. Parent Visas– for overseas parents of sponsoring Australian Permanent residents or citizens to come to Australia to live with their children permanently or temporarily. They will need to satisfy the Balance of Family test. You can apply for contributory parent visa which has a higher visa application charge attached or a non-contributory one which has a longer waiting period.
